When you say signs, you essentially think about signs that are used to mark doors to offices, tell you what hotel room door you are looking at, and what classroom your next subject is in. These are just a few of the things that signs are used for, but these are not the only uses for signs. Different types of signs have different uses, and in this post, we will talk about the many different signs that are used for safety as well as the different headers that can be used on these.

Different Types of Signs - Safety Headers

While you may not easily see these signs on our site, this does not mean that we cannot customize and create such signs for you. We are, after all, one of the longest running signage manufacturers around. And as such, we know what these many different headers mean, and what each one needs to look like when a specific safety signage needs to be made.

For starters, let us talk about the four most commonly used headers for these different kinds of safety signs. When you need to have such signs custom made for your business or your company, you should be aware that these indicate various levels of danger. While it does not mean that you should be less careful with one type of sign than with another, it is still a good way to determine what level of hazard is present and for people to take the necessary precautions when they see these headers.

DangerDanger – this header is considered the one that brings with it the highest level of danger, hence the word itself being on the sign. This header is in bright red with black and white combination, making it easy to discern even from afar. This tells you that you should take all the needed precautions you can since any accident occurring in an area with this sign can mean serious injuries or sure death.

Warning – this header is considered the one that warns of the next level of danger present in an area. In orange and black, this header is also easy to determine even from a distance. When this header is found on a sign, this means that when an accident occurs, there is a high possibility of severe injuries, and even a possibility of death.

Caution – in yellow and black, this is another type of header that you can easily understand even when you are standing a long way away from it. While this does not indicate dangers that may cost a life, these still tell people to be careful since the area presents certain hazards that can cost a person a limb or can get them hurt.

Notice – this header comes in blue and white and is often used to indicate rules or to list steps that need to be followed for safety. This can also be used to tell people certain company policies that need to be adhered to.

Aside from these four, you can expect to see other signs with headers in green and white that carry Safety or Safety First, Be Careful, Think, and Emergency wordings on them.
