Cleaning Office Signs

Cleaning your office signs periodically is essential when you want to keep these looking as good as they did when you first installed them. Different kinds of signs need to be cleaned different ways since these may tarnish or fade if not cleaned the right way for their properties. For example, if you want to clean metal signs, you have to make sure that these are dried thoroughly in order to prevent these from rusting up.

If your signs are made with aluminum, you will need to clean these in a certain way as well. These signs may not rust when washed or cleaned with the use of water and other liquid cleaning agents, however these are still prone to tarnish and deterioration. This is why proper care is needed when maintaining these signs.

Here are some tips to help you keep your aluminum office signs clean and looking good:

 1. Clean your signs regularly. Even when aluminum signs are generally low maintenance, you still need to keep these signs spotless to avoid the build-up of grime, dust, dirt and mud. Whether these are installed indoors or outdoors, these signs should be cleaned at least twice a month to make these look as good as they should. Cleaning these signs regularly will also help extend life and usage.

2. When you are cleaning office signs made with aluminum, while these do not rust, these can still be prone to scratches and tarnish if not cared for properly. Clean these with the use of a mixture of mild detergent and warm water. You should also avoid using abrasives or rough cloth when wiping these signs off since these can scratch and damage your signs.

3. Wipe these signs gently, making sure you get all the grooves and corners in order to thoroughly remove all the dirt that may be on it. After removing any grime and dirt with the use of a damp and soapy piece of soft cloth, wipe off the soapy surfaces with another damp piece of soft cloth, although this time use clean water for this. Once you have removed all the soapy substance from the signs, buff the sign to a soft shine with the use of a dry, soft cloth.

4. If you want to remove any discoloration from your aluminum office signs, wipe the sign with a mixture of 1 tsp. vinegar and 1 cup warm water before cleaning with your soapy solution.
